Eagle Court of Honor cake

I love making cakes for people, so I volunteered to make a cake for my friend's son.  He earned his Eagle in Boy Scouts before his 14th birthday....very impressive.  I asked him to tell me his favorite merit badges and then I replicated them on an edible sugar sheet that I put through the printer.

The cake is frosted with a whip cream frosting.  Inside is lemon sourcream cake and filled with lemon curd and fresh raspberries.
I found a chocolate mold at our local Scout office and added these white chocolate emblems around the middle layer.  After the chocolate hardened, I brushed them with edible gold dust.
For the cake topper I bought this eagle trophy and took it off the marble base. I then supported it by screwing it into a blank cd and covered it in frosting.  The troop numbers were also made from edible frosting sheets put through the printer.

Skateboard Cake

Skateboard cake I made for a friend's son. The cake inside is a white sourcream. Half of the cake has lemon curd with fresh raspberries and the other half is chocolate ganache with fresh strawberries.

I have had alot if fun playing with fondant lately.  The wheels are little Hostess donuts.  For the trucks I covered a wooden dowel with fondant.  Overall it was a pretty easy cake to make.

New Puppy!

We decided it was best for the kids (and me) if we got a new dog sooner rather than later.  Having a dog allergy limits the dog we can bring ing to the family, but the choices we do have include some pretty amazing breeds.  My youngest daughter, Kennedy, has always wanted a poodle.  The rest of the family has always wanted a BIG dog.  Meet Mylui, our new 4 month old Standard Poodle!

Who says poodles have to be small?

When one of my husband's co-workers found out about the loss of our sweet Libby Lu, she too went looking for a new family member for us.  It's funny, but she talked her daughter into giving us her dog.  Meet Bo!
Bo is also a Standard Poodle.
He is 5 years old and immediately attached himself to Kennedy.

The two dogs have become fast friends and play endlessly with each other.

Kennedy's Very Own Scriptures

Today I needed to drive up to Denver for a shopping trip.  I had promised Kennedy her own set of scriptures and so off we went.  Since we were already in the area, we stopped at the Denver Temple for a little bit.

Of course Ethan wanted nothing to do with getting his picture taken....not when he has Jelly Bellies in his little hands!

Happy Birthday Ethan

My now 3 year old is totally obsessed with "mouse".  For his birthday I made him these cute Mickey cupcakes.

I found the idea off of The Cupcake Blog.  These had to be the easiest cupcakes I've ever made.

We invited a couple families over for Hawaiian Haystacks.  Ethan loved his Mickey pinata.  My husband only got hit once with the stick the kids were using.

In addition to the cupcakes, I made a Mickey Mouse cake.  I had bought a Wilton cake pan before deciding on the cupcakes.  The kids (and grownups) had no trouble eating it all.
The goodie bags!
Thanks to my Cricut, these were quick to make!

I made headbands for all the kids, but only the older kids kept them on....go figure!

Halloween Cake Pops

My first try at making Cake Pops!  I made these little cuties for a Trunk or Treat in our church parking lot.
